Finn Juhl, a Danish architect, interior and industrial designer, was an icon of 20th century Danish modern design. He approached furniture design from the vantage point of an artist and sculptor and created a unique approach within the world of modern furniture, referencing more traditional art forms and employing organic shapes and bold color. As one of the leading figures in the creation of Danish design beginning in the 1940s, he was critical to the introduction of Danish modern furniture design to United States.
