1981 Herman Miller Eames Time Life Black Leather Office Chair

This vintage mid century modern black Model 3475 Eames Time Life Lobby Chair designed by Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller was produced in 1981. This classic office chair features original black leather upholstery and four-star cast aluminum swivel base with rolling casters. The comfortable, contoured ergonomic design features thick, plush cushions, swivel seat and adjustable height and backrest tilt. An adaptation of the commissioned ‘Lobby Chairs’ for the Time Life building in New York, the 1960 release of the Time Life Lounge Chair brought the chair to the broader public of homes, offices, conference rooms and lobbies all over the US and internationally. Model 3475 introduced later in the 1960s has the width and laid back comfort and swivel of the 675 model with added height and tilt adjustability. An iconic and collectible desk chair; perfect for home or office. Date stamped Jan 1, 1981 with Herman Miller black stripe label and content label to underside.
