This authentic LC3 Grand Modele three-seat black leather sofa originally designed by Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret in 1928 was produced by Cassina in 2007. The LC3 sofa is of impeccable quality, heavy and sturdy and deeply comfortable. Originally called the “grand confort”, the LC3 was specifically designed to respond to the needs of modern lifestyles and is often described as a “sofa machine”. All cushions are zippered and removable and rest on heavy Cassina nylon strap supports. Since 1965, Italian furniture manufacturer Cassina has had exclusive manufacturing rights to the LC collection, including the LC3. Cassina is known worldwide for its high-quality workmanship and collaboration with design pioneers. Original impressed mark ‘LC3 25664’ with Cassina logo and Le Corbusier signature to chrome frame. Made in Italy.
LC3
The LC3 collection consists of an armchair, two-seat and three-seat sofa. The Le Corbusier LC3 three-seat sofa is an iconic design piece that represents timeless elegance and modern minimalism. With its clear, geometric structure and chrome-plated steel frame, it embodies the essence of the Bauhaus era. The exposed metal structure and separation of the metal frame and the cushions were designed to represent a rationalist approach to industrial production. It is part of the broader iconic “LC” collection, known for its revolutionary combination of functionality, comfort and modernist aesthetics.
