Beni Ourain Moroccan Rugs
Handcrafted by women artisans from the Middle Atlas Mountain region of Morocco, Beni Ourain rugs were traditionally used as bedding to keep warm in the cold winter months. They are handwoven from undyed, natural wool and feature a characteristic ivory or cream field with a simple geometric diamond pattern line design in henna-like brown or black, which is woven from undyed wool from black sheep. The asymmetry and subtle variations in line thickness make each Beni Ourain rug one-of-a-kind.
