Fritz Hansen’s Mid Century Danish Brown Swan Chair Designed by Arne Jacobsen

This mid century Danish modern brown Swan chair by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen was made in Denmark and produced in 2003. It features a 4-star aluminum swivel base and original leatherette upholstery in a gorgeous shade of deep, dark brown with aubergine undertones. The chair retains Fritz Hansen A/S, Made in Denmark 2003 manufacturer’s stickers and stamp on base. The “Swan” lounge chair was originally designed in 1958 by architect and designer Arne Jacobsen (Danish, 1902-1971) for the lobby of the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark, a building he also designed. Along with Jacobsen’s “Egg” chair, the Swan, with its graceful and organic sculptural lines, has become one the most iconic chairs of mid-20th century Danish modern design.

CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. Minor wear and marks to fabric expected with normal use.
